DESCRIPTION:

GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the Manager of IT Operations, the YMCA Intern shall be responsible for coordinating with the project managers within the Y-USA IT department to assist in analyzing and designing business processes and the systems to support those processes.  This role will also work with the IT Support team to create documentation to assist with end-user support and analyze and document software licensing requirements.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The YMCA Intern must possess good communications skills (both oral and written) and have an ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.  The YMCA Intern must have the ability to relate to staff in a positive professional manner. They will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

The YMCA Intern should have experience with project management.  Also, an understanding of software implementation and or help desk support is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Potential Projects (actual assignment will be dependent on skills of intern)
•    Work with project managers to identify the project management needs of the organization and support them as needed in the evaluation of Microsoft Project Server.
•    Compare Microsoft Project Server capabilities and reporting with current system (Daptiv)
•    Software License Tracking Analysis
•    Creation of a Tier 1 IT Support Knowledge Base
•    Network Security Evaluation
•    Creation of a SharePoint webpart that pulls Facebook or Google as an open API

Miscellaneous
•    Attend related YMCA staff meetings.
•    Participate in all appropriate YMCA events.
•    Attend the following association required trainings:
o    New Staff Orientation
o    Other training related to position and others as available

Overall
•    Use personal initiative for professional growth through hands on learning experience and appropriate training experience.
•    Perform such duties as assigned.
•    Uphold and exemplify the principles of the YMCA, including caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Employees and interns are held      responsible for duties of the job.
•    Responsible for strict adherence to all YMCA of USA policies and procedures related to safety and conduct rules and other regulations.

EFFECT ON END RESULTS:
Being a YMCA Intern for the Internal Technology Department you will help us to achieve our goals of assessing system solutions and creating documentation to support our core business processes.
