Data Center Operations Intern – Junior Data Center Operations Specialist

Basic Function:
The leader in the access control industry is currently seeking a motivated Data Center Operations Intern - Junior Data Center Operations Specialist for our Elmhurst facility.  This is an entry-level position for students currently enrolled in IT related programs.  This individual will be responsible for assisting with the monitoring of daily and weekly backup jobs.  No previous Data Center experience is required.  

-        Flexible morning or early afternoon hours
-        Part-time, 2 to 4 hours/day Monday-Friday
-        Opportunity to gain valuable Data Center Operations experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-        Perform daily backup operational tasks
-        Installing and removing equipment in the Data Center
-        Be involved in process improvements to streamline backup operations
-        Coordinate, document, and execute data destruction activities
-        Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
-        Must be very dependable.
-        Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
-        Basic knowledge and utilization of different software packages e.g. MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
-        Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
-        Must be well organized.
-        Effective verbal and written communication skills.
-        Currently enrolled in an Information Technology related degree program.
