POSITION: Information Security Analyst Intern

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Morningstar’s corporate business unit is looking for an Information Security Analyst Intern to join our team. This is a paid part-time internship located in our Chicago office requiring 15-20 hours per week.

The Information Security Analyst Intern works directly with our senior information security analyst to assist with information security and business continuity programs. As Information Security Analyst Intern, you will help evaluate the Morningstar intranet infrastructure, internal LAN, VPN, and Web-based applications to determine potential short- and long-term security vulnerabilities.

The ideal person for this role is someone passionate about determining the source of potential problems who will offer inventive ways to remedy shortcomings and improve existing processes. We’re looking for a highly motivated individual interested in conducting ethical hacking, application penetration testing, and intrusion testing. Candidates should have hands-on experience in application development and security evaluation. Desirable candidates will be familiar with Microsoft products including SQL Server, Windows NT/2000/XP, IIS, and Exchange 2000; Web technologies (Java, XML, ASP); Cisco products including routers, switches, and PIX firewall; and Linux and UNIX. Applicants must be enrolled in a degree program; an information security emphasis is preferred.
