Customer Support Specialist - Naperville, IL

DEL Technical Services is currently working with a software company in Naperville, IL that is looking for a Customer Support Specialist to join their team.  The company offers a casual dress environment, 15 personal days for the first year of employment, tuition reimbursement for advanced degrees, and flexible work schedules.

 The Customer Support Specialist position would be responsible for doing high level technical support with clients.  They are looking for someone with :

  • Experience documenting issues and clearly communicating their resolution
  • Presentation of facts, figures, models, and technical concepts in a way that others can comprehend
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Patient trial and error troubleshooting
  • Methodical deductive reasoning
  • Strong intuition
  • Good working knowledge of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office products
  • Basic understanding of other varied computing concepts including, but not limited to
  • Networking, software installation programs, version control, enhancement request and bug tracking tools, web services, XML, HTML
  • Basic understanding of software development methodologies
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload and still complete tasks on-time
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to instruct audiences on varied topics such that a transfer of knowledge occurs with high customer satisfaction
  • Ability to service customers in professional Services on-site engagements, including
  • An enthusiastic self-starter with a bias toward action and follow-through
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented and able to work well in both collaborative team and independent individual projects to completion
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills including knowing when to seek assistance from others, but also offering assistance and instructing others
  • Proactive thirst for knowledge and continuing education including reading business and technical publications and self-study of new and emerging technologies
  • Open to travel for support and consulting customer visits
  • Demonstrates skills in documenting and updating customer issues
  • Ability to deal with difficult customers and situations

 

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree Computer Science or BS in another area and Entry Level – 8 years of customer support experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Software Product Support
  • Mastery of a variety of different software packages

 

Desired:

  • Technical certifications (i.e. Microsoft products, DePaul University Computer Career Program)
  • Additional technical training through course work and workshops
  • Professional Organizations (i.e. Toastmasters, Dale Carnegie)
