Chicago 2016, the organization seeking the privilege of hosting the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, is seeking dynamic individuals for several summer internship positions in the New Media & Marketing departments. The internship starts in mid-June and runs through mid-August, requires 20-25 hours a week and is unpaid.
Responsibilities will include software development for Chicago 2016’s Web site, including programming, application integration, database development & integration with external web services.
**This is not your typical administrative/site update internship. You will be planning, developing, beta testing, rolling out content/features, and measuring impact.**
Individuals interested in applying for these positions should possess the following traits:
- Strong web software development skillset & love of Chicago and sport
- Experience in web development
- The capacity to juggle multiple priorities and schedules
- The ability to work autonomously
- Leadership skills
- Work well in a team environment
- Proficiency in a web development technologies, from front to back - .Net, open source, HTML, PHP, Javascript, SQL
- General interest in gaining exposure to new media, communications, marketing and other departments in the organization
