Frequently Asked Questions
Q: If I have trouble with the recording, can I come to class?

A: In short, No. Except for exams (mentioned above) online students are not allowed to come to class. In many cases classrooms are full and extra online students would displace students registered for the in-class section. If you are able to attend class you should register for the in-class section. Note that students in the in-class section of an COL-enabled course have access to the same recordings and materials as online students.

COLCASTING
is the automatic downloading of your COL lecuture recordings onto your PC for offline viewing of lectures as they become available. For this feature to work, you must have the latest version of the >> COLPlayer installed. To enable the automatic downloading of lectures, check the box next to the COLCAST button.

Lecture Podcasts
If your instructor chooses to use the PODCASTING feature you will find a link to the lecture MP3 file next to each weeks lecture link. Download and listen to the lecture audio on your favorite MP3 player.

Note: If you don't see VIEW LECTURES in the left-side menu or there is no lecture posted on the VIEW LECTURES page, it is most likely one of the following 3 cases:

  • It is too early and the lecture hasn't been posted yet. Please, allow 12 hours after the actual class for the lecture recording to be posted online.
  • Your class is not COL-enabled and won't be recorded.
  • All recordings for the past quarter have been deleted already.
