Transfer Course Data (Faculty)

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the average time I should allow for online students to take the exam?

A: Typically the dates assigned for online students start on the same day as the in-class section and the dates range from 3 to 7 days. You might want to make sure that there is a weekend within your exam timeline. This way, students who work long hours during the week are covered.

You can import the following data types from any course section you’ve previously taught in COLWeb:

  • Assignments
  • Documents
  • FAQs
  • Syllabus
  • Useful Links

To Transfer Course Data From A Previously Taught Course Section

  1. Login to COLWeb with your Campus Connection username and password.

  2. Select one of your current courses to open the main menu.

  3. Click on >> CONFIGURATION from the left side menu.

  4. Then, click on TRANSFER COURSE DATA.

  5. On the resulting screen, first select the appropriate SOURCE TERM and COURSE COURSE SECTION from the dropdown menus

  6. Now, select the individual DESTINATION COURSE SECTION(S) or DESTINATION COURSE GROUPING(S) where you want the data be transferred to. If you select a COURSE GROUPING the course data will automatically be mapped to all sections bound in this course grouping.

  7. Choose one or multiple DATA CATEGORIES you would like to import. Note: Unfortunately it is NOT possible to select individual data items for transfer - only the category! For example: If you check the box for announcements, all your announcements from the specified source term and course section will get imported. If you don't want all announcements, you will then have to go to the destination course section(s) or course grouping(s) and remove the announcements you don't want from the announcements listing. Keep in mind: You might also need to update your transferred files and correct the due dates, etc.

  8. Next, decide if you would like the transferred data to be IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE TO YOUR STUDENTS or unavailable until you modified the files and change the availability status manually. Check the box to make your transferred files UNAVAILABLE to your students. You then can go back any time and edit the availability date for each individual item manually.

  9. If you finished all previous steps click the SUBMIT SELECTION button below. To make sure that your submission was successful and your data has been transferred correctly, check the STATUS BAR on top of the screen. Once you clicked on submit the data will be transferred immediately and you will be able to start working with your files by selecting the destination course section or grouping from the TERM & COURSE SELECTOR on top of the left side menu.
