It's very important that you check with your professor how she or he is dealing with homework way before your submission is due:

Most faculty use COLWeb to collect their students' homework submissions. To learn more about how to submit homework on COLWeb click here.
Some faculty require that you turn in your homework directly in-class.
Some faculty prefer e-mail for homework submissions.

Check your professor's syllabus or send an e-mail if you happen to miss the first lecture, where faculty usually addresses these things.
