Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will I have to come to campus for exams?

A: Check your course syllabus for exam dates and instructions. If you are a local student and an exam is given in class, you will need to come to one of DePaul’s Campuses on exam night to take the test. Distant students must make arrangements for a proctor at a local college or university. For more information about exam procedures click here.

Overview
This document attempts to explain to graders how to use COLWeb to retrieve assignments and post grades. This does not set out any policy for the activities of graders. For questions regarding the assignment and employment of graders, faculty should contact Amaris Casiano-Zoko

Grader Access
Once faculty gave their grader access to their courses after submitting the grader's DePaul (student) ID Number in COLWeb. The grader can then go to COLWeb and login with his/her Campus Connection username and password. On the My CURRENT COURSES page the grader will see the courses he/she is grading listed under My Current Courses along with his/her regular courses (if he/she is curently taking courses).

To Retrieve Homework Submissions and Post Grades
Instructors and graders retrieve submissions by selecting the appropriate course and clicking on GRADEBOOK from the left hand menu. The resulting screen will show a list of all the registered students along the left side of the screen, and a list of assignments across the top.

There are 3 ways to view submitted assignments:

  • Assignment Grading: Click on the ASSIGNMENT NAME. Clicking on a assignment name will bring you to a screen listing all students and links to their submissions. You can open or save those submissions all at once when you click on the link next to DOWNLOAD ALL SUBMISSIONS. Further you may see the time they were submitted, click on the DETAIL VIEW and enter the grades in the appropriate GRADING FIELDS.

  • Student Grading: Click on the STUDENT NAME. Another way to view submissions, clicking on a student name, will show all of the assignments and submissions for that particular student. You can open or save those submissions all at once when you click on the link next to DOWNLOAD ALL SUBMISSIONS. Further you may see the time they were submitted, click on the DETAIL VIEW and enter the grades in the appropriate GRADING FIELDS.

  • Detailed Grading: Click directly on the individual SUBMISSION ICON in the table. Here you the submission of one student for a single assignment. Download and view the submission from here, review the submission date, enter the grade and a comment in the appropriate fields.
