Exam Procedures - Scheduling A Remote Exam

Q: How soon after class are lecture recordings available online?

A: Typically, your class recordings will be available online within 6-12 hours after the actual in-class lecture.

Note: Before you start scheduling your exam make sure, you have all the needed Proctor Information for registering.

To schedule an exam for a remote location follow the listed steps:

  1. Login to COLWeb by using your Campus Connection username and password.

  2. Select the course for which you would like to register from the MY CURRENT COURSES page. If you are currently not on the MY CURRENT COURSES page, you can always select your preferred course from the TERM & COURSE SELECTOR on the upper left side of every screen.

  3. Then click on EXAMS from the left-side menu. This takes you to a list of all available exams for your selected course. You can easily identify your available exams labeled with the following icon Note: If there are no exams listed, your instructor hasn’t posted any exams yet.

  4. Identify the exam for which you would like to register and click the VIEW SCHEDULE button to the right.
    If there is no such button for your exam, either:
    • You have already scheduled an exam session for this exam. In this case the exam will be labeled with the following icon .
    • You have cancelled a previous exam registration and have not e-mailed the OL Staff (exam will be labeled with 
    • You have missed the last available due date to for exam registration. In this case the exam will also be labeled with the following icon .E-mail the OL Staff  if you need to make special exam arrangements.

  5. On the EXAM SCHEDULING screen you will see the exam name and provided exam time-frame in the blue box on top.

  6. Next, go to the ADDITIONAL EXAM SESSIONS sections. Besides the exam schedules for all suburban campuses you will find the option REMOTE EXAM .

  7. Select the DATE on which you would like to take the REMOTE EXAM from the dropdown menu above the list. If your proctor will not make an appointment without the exam paper, simply register for the earliest date available and make sure to send an e-mail to OL Staff.

  8. Register for that session by clicking REGISTER ME at the bottom of the page.

  9. On the next screen enter all of your proctor's information and click on SUBMIT. You will only need to do this once, unless you change proctors.

  10. After registering you will be taken back to the VIEW EXAMS screen where you will see your scheduled exam session flagged with a green checkmark icon. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address listed for you on Campus Connection.
