Add, Edit Or Remove Exams

To Add An Exam

Note: When posting an exam, you must submit at least the exam type and time-frame during which your students must complete your exam. Once you created your Exam the Exam option will show up in your online students' menu. Your students will then register for your Exam through the Exam scheduling option in COLWeb.

  1. Login to COLWeb with your Campus Connection username and password.

  2. Selct the appropriate course from the >> MY CURRENT COURSES page.

  3. Click on >> EXAMS from the left-side menu.

  4. On the VIEW EXAMS page click the ADD EXAM button.

  5. On the resulting screen you will see the following sections:

     Enter Exam Details 

    /// Select exam type

    You can choose between the generic “Midterm” or “Final” or name the exam yourself by selecting “Other” and entering an individual name for the exam.
    Required: Yes. When you initially create the exam.

    /// Upload exam file
    You can but you are not required to upload your exam when you fill out the instructions and time-frame for your exam. This gives your students the opportunity to register for an exam session plenty of time before exam week.
    Required: Not until 36 hours before the first exam is scheduled.

    /// In-class registration - Allow your online students to register for the in-class exam of the following section
    By checking this box, your online students will be able to register and take the exam with the in-class section you specified. You will need to monitor the number of online students who register because the total number of students may exceed the seating capacity of your classroom. In this case, please contact the OL Staff  right away indicating that you need accommodations for exam overflow.
    Required: No.

     Set Exam Date & Time-Frame

    /// In-class exam date
    Enter the date and time of your in-class exam session.
    Required: Only if you allow online students to sit with your regular in-class section.

    /// OL exam time-frame

    You must indicate the time-frame that you require your online students to complete your exam.
    Required: Yes.

     Provide Exam Instructions
    You must fill out the instructions for your exam. Your students will now have the exam instructions well in advance.
    Required: Yes. When you have uploaded the exam file.

     Specify Return Instructions
    You must indicate how you want the completed exams returned to you. The toll-free fax number (866) 715-0863 to the OL Office on the Mezzanine Level of CDM is already entered.
    Required: Yes. When you have uploaded the exam file.
     
  6. Once you've put in all required information on this page click the SUBMIT EXAM button and the Exam will be added to the Exams list on the previous page. Check the STATUS BAR on top for submission feedback. The system will display a SUCCESS MESSAGE if your Exam has been created successfully or an ERROR MESSAGE if not.

To Edit An EXAM

  1. Click the EDIT button to the right of the Exam you would like to modify.
  2. On the resulting screen modify the data as preferred.
  3. Click the UPDATE EXAM button on the bottom of the page when done.

To Remove An Exam

  1. On the VIEW EXAMS page, identify the exam you want to remove.
  2. Click the DELETE button to the right.
  3. On the resulting pop-up window confirm that you want to remove the exam.
